Pilot sites

The CRedIBlE project validates its solutions through a diverse network of pilot buildings across Europe, spanning residential and non-residential typologies, new constructions and renovations, and a variety of climate zones. These pilot studies are essential to demonstrate the real-world value of circular construction practices, digital tools, and material innovations developed in the project. Each site is embedded within its local value chain, actively involving public authorities, SMEs, and community stakeholders to ensure practical relevance and replicability.

Murcia Bus Station (Spain)

Located in the heart of Murcia, this public transport hub will undergo a renovation that integrates circular design principles, digital twin modelling, and material traceability. The pilot explores how smart renovation practices can extend building lifespans and reduce environmental impact in public infrastructure.

Murcia Scientific Park (Spain)

This pilot focuses on the adaptive reuse and modular upgrading of an innovation ecosystem building. The project will test digital decision-making tools and a materials passport system to enhance sustainability in high-tech environments.

KTU Central Building (Kaunas, Lithuania)

Hosted by Kaunas University of Technology, this academic facility will serve as a demonstration of circular refurbishment strategies in higher education. Emphasis will be placed on stakeholder co-creation, training activities, and integration into educational curricula.

Elisabeta Lipă Multifunctional Hall (Romania)

This new public building in Romania offers a unique case to apply circularity principles from the early planning phase, allowing the testing of digital design workflows, modular construction, and secondary materials marketplaces from day one.

Verger 10, Vevey (Switzerland)

A residential renovation in the city of Vevey will demonstrate the application of selective deconstruction, material reuse, and dynamic lifecycle assessment. The pilot explores how to scale circular practices in the Swiss housing sector.

Residential Block in Larnaca (Cyprus)

This pilot examines circular renovation strategies in a Mediterranean climate, applying building information modelling (BIM), digital logbooks, and community engagement methods to increase performance and reduce waste in dense urban settings.
